Hospice 7/31/07

The doctor is still pushing Morphine and Ativan and the use of morphine is not defined-we removed the DNR (parents) because we didn’t want them to “let” Evan die and now we are becoming very aware and we now know he is NOT dying. This newly added small print that Evan has less than 6 month life expectancy AND now they have a “limited” Prognosis.

What is that? Is that a clinical / medical statement? Limited Prognosis means they never consulted experts in the beginning of hospice, now they are grabbing rainbows. Evan is 9 months old, so this is the third time they said he has 6 months to live -this will also be repeated when Evan is 2 years old. How many times are they going to say he has 6 months to live?

The doctor who signed this is the cute little signature “ME” for Dr Monica Mehren of Mission Viejo ca. who was behind the scenes all through this hospice (19 months) You can see her in the players tab.

Now let’s look at the word “limited” Prognosis. Limited means; “small amount or part of “(sort of like,”a little pregnant”), but later they state again, for the 4th time “he has 6 months to live” and drop the “limited” and Mehren signs it again. What changed from “not limited” to “limited” and back to “6 months to live” ? What substantiates these statements ? or is it just like the “Pre-Hospice Assessment” where their own document is asking for a reason to substantiate a “Terminal Prognosis” and it was unanswered, then buried until we uncovered it in 2012.

Where is the care ? and where is the professional approach to this health care statement?

If Evan has survived Kaiser’s attempted murder, then why are not they trying to help this baby and family? As soon as hospice ended, there was no attempt in ANY capacity to help, not even a phone call from anyone at Kaiser, ever. If you have seen Kaiser’s advertisements on TV, then where is the “TEAM” or the “research” for our baby?.

It does not exist, it is advertising.

In the end, the concern was only Evan’s father, not Evan. They were afraid, because we now knew and it was their excuse to not help the family or Evan. Show me a father that would not be angry knowing what you have read so far?.
